About the artist
Manouk van Zwam is an artist at heart. Moved by colours and inspired by nature, the humankind, their emotions and every connection between them.
Manouk paints a story. With a great feeling for colour compositions and layering, she takes the audience on a visual journey into her own perception of reality. Her work is colourfull, expressive, playfull and combines abstract forms with figurative ones. Manouk likes to experiment with different materials, forms and techniques to shape her vision onto the canvas.
With a deep passion for art, Manouk wants to surprise, touch and challenge her audience with her artwork. In addition she writes short stories complementing the paintings. The combination of these two forms of expression ignites a dialogue amongst her audience. Concerning themes such as the self, relationships and spirituality. All placed within the frames of the societal norms and values we are all exposed to every day.
